Your home's Air Conditioning system is comprised of two main components - the outside compressor unit and the evaporator unit inside the furnace proper.
The schematic below provides a good overview of how the AC system works.
In the OGT the AC units are located in distinct locations. In the Condo units, they are under the stairs going to the upper units. Whereas in the Townhouse units they are located in each side of each of the three buildings, either 2 or 3 units.
HOME OWNER'S PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE TIPS
1. Replace furnace filter (every one to three months depending on the type of filter and the amount of usage of your furnace. Furnace filters for OGT is 16" x 25" x 1". It helps to reduce the amount of dust in home and even smoke. Recommend using the 3M Filtretes products.
2. Have your air conditioning system inspected and serviced every three to five years by a professional.
3. Ensure that your outdoor condenser motor is covered with a properly fitting cover to prevent salt and debris from getting inside the condenser unit. See the FAILURE TO COVER YOUR AC, below.
4. Turn off the breaker switch for the AC unit in the fall and turn back on in the spring.
